i might be missing something here

i'm not really a history buff, and i don't know much about our current president, but can anyone explain this to me? foxsports.com's randy hill recently made a list of players who were most critical to their respective teams' playoff drives.

Eric Gagne, relief pitcher, Boston Red Sox: Since leaving the Rangers in a trade-deadline deal, Gagne has had the most scrutinized Texas-to-Boston transition since George W. Bush.

what? i'm hesitant to outright mock this, because it may very well be a reference to something that really happened. someone please let me know if i should change that stance and get rid of that hesitation.

I don't know if this is what Randy Hill was referring to but, not so long ago President Bush was part of the Rangers in some capacity. I don't know if he was an owner, or what his specific position was, but he certainly held some steak in it...Now after the Red Sox won they were invited to the White House for pictures, and all that.

If this is what Randy Hill is referrign to his an effin' blowhard and an idiot.

Do you think the Rangers were happy when GW sold his steaks in the franchise? Or when he pulled up steaks and left town to be Prez?

I've recently held steaks in a few local restaurants. There was no financial return though, so I don't know why business guys get all excited about holding steaks in various places.

yeah i appreciate the input, konstantinekid and thelibrarian, but i don't think your valiant attempts at an explanation are doing it for me. i'm going to have to assume randy hill thinks washington DC is in boston.
