What To Expect From The Media Re: Tonight's Championship Game (In Pictures)

Not much, truthfully. I don't see most of them getting excited about it all. Why? Well, Saturday's semifinals were a disaster from their standpoint. First, this guy got eliminated:

And then, a few hours later, so did this guy:

I mean, now who are they supposed to touch themselves while thinking about? This guy?

I mean, sure, he's white... but is he white enough? His name sounds kind of Muslim-ish. (Yes, the picture is homoerotic, I know. It was the best one of him I could find.) And with Memphis not offering a single player that's interesting from this angle, like I already said, I can really see the media overlooking the game and simply moving on to other stories. Too bad. A Love vs. Hansbrough showdown would have spawned some epic puff pieces.

Oh, speaking of moving on to other stories... I don't know if you've heard, but someone's already thinking about a comeback! Yayyyyyy! Peter King, step down from that ledge. Everything's going to be ok.

As to Farve...

Dude, it was the LA Times, who are rapidly becoming less reliable then The Star. These guys are the ones who jsut got hammered over the "Puffy had Tupac killed" article. I wouldn't trust this story at all, though the writer wsa on local radio, and said it was the agent making inqueries, and not Farve himself saying anything. Makes it sound like the agent is desperate for some pub or such maybe before the draft. The writer (Sam Farmer) kept saying Farve would want to go to a contender....but who is more of a contender then Green Bay right now? Awful division, worse of the two conferences, and they just went to the NFC Championship Game!

the LA times isn't worth the floor space required to protect the tiles from puppy shit. you may safely ignore it.

I just wanted an excuse to make fun of Peter King. The real focus here should be on how disappointed 99% of sportswriters were to see both Love and Hansbrough lose on the same night.

Oh, and before anyone accuses me of being a hypocrite for making fun of Jemele Hill for playing the race card, this isn't like that. I'm not saying the media doesn't like minorities. They do. But man, they absolutely love white people. It's an important distinction.

SMACK!

Without Kevin Love throwing outlet passes and Tyler Hansbrough trying really, really, really hard I am not watching the game.

One story you are never going to hear is how Hansbrough got used on the inside the entire game by Kansas. You always hear, "Hansbrough is not a shot blocker" etc, which is just basically saying he is not a great defensive player, which he is, because he tries hard. As for Kevin Love, it is not his fault the guards for UCLA are midgets and Memphis have tall guards. I think Love should be able to transfer to Memphis tonight to play...if not that, at least give us one shot of him in the crowd combing his KFed beard.
