Someone Got Paid to Pick This Out
I'd like to personally thank ESPN for their implementation of the "Conversation" feature on their website. Never before have cynical people like me had access to the flat out dumb opinions of thousands of other sports fans worldwide. Better still, they're now reading select Conversation comments on Sportscenter! What does it take for your comment to make the cut and be seen and heard by millions of viewers nationwide? Well, you could offer the kind of analysis Landon from Wellington, New Zealand did this morning:
Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, Juan Uribe; 4 consecutive home runs, awesome!
Seriously? Really? Fucking Kiwis. Shouldn't you be herding sheep or playing rugby or something? Actually, a quick check of the Google Analytics shows we have had 5 visitors from New Zealand in the last month. So I guess I shouldn't be so harsh. You guys are alright with me; you're nothing like those fucking Lithuanians.

I think for your comment to make the cut, it has to appeal to the masses the regularly watch ESPN and care what others are thinking. So you have to dumb it down to a fourth grade level.
You get: "Favre is in New York. This should be interesting."
Rather than: "Brett said he only wanted to come back to play football only if he had a chance to win a Super Bowl. The Jets are much worse of a team than the Packers and play in the same division as the Patriots. Favre may be full of shit."
Or: "The Patriots got John Lynch. Smart move."
Rather than: "The Patriots now have less team speed than the retirement home intermural football squad."
