Hey NBC

Listen, I've been really pleased with your Olympic coverage so far. Really. You're doing a bang-up job. I just have one tiny little issue... I feel like I don't know quite what Michael Phelps's mom looks like. You know what I mean? It's like, I know someone's out there cheering for Michael. But who is she? What kind of hairdo does she have? Is she wearing too much makeup, or way too much makeup? If you could please get this mystery woman on camera just a little bit more often, I'd really appreciate it.

Otherwise, keep up the good work!

Thank God...I was looking for an outlet to rip this coverage. It has been awful for so many reasons, but what I'm watching right now is just too ridiculous. They are showing the 4 x 100 women's medley with Dara Torres with the "Live" symbol in the corner of the screen, despite the fact that this race took place almost 24 hours ago. Yes, I know they actually showed the race live at that time, but it's not live now, and with the time change, it's confusing and these assholes are totally taking advantage of that.

I can't watch much of any of the sports for very long without feeling like I need to check my blood sugar. I realize many of these athletes sacrifice a lot for their sport, but to hear the boxing team hyped by who they are fighting for is silly. Can't anyone admit they want to be professionals, or champions just for the sake of being champion, and not for their dad or mom or someone else. Maybe the fact they don't want it for themselves explains why they suck.

One thing I am tired of hearing is how Michael Phelps is so much greater than Mark Spitz because of his medal count. Maybe someone should add that the Olympians in the 60s and 70s didn't have the financial support to continue training for 8-12 years like some of these people do now. Some of the athletes are in their fourth Olympics, so if they don't have high medal counts what are they doing with their time?

Phelps is in his 2nd Olympics. Spitz was also in 2 Olympics, his first being 1968 in Mexico City. It is a completely valid comparison.

Who is this Phelps character you're referring to?

I have done some deep investigative work and found out that Michael Phelps is not a test tube baby. Apparently he has a biological father! His father, who is a former crack addict and separated from his Phelps' mom in 1993 because he abused his children, ok that is all a lie, he was a policeman who had a semi strained relationship with his children, therefore does not deserve to be acknowledged publicly because he is obviously a bad person. His mom is such a saint I am sure the break up was not her fault.

His dad declined an interview requests saying, "This is just about Michael," he said. "This is his glory, his time to shine, and I want him to get everything he wants."

What an ass to let Michael have the moment, no wonder NBC hasn't focused on him at all, he is not an attention hungry publicity needing person who takes every opportunity be interviewed. I just wanted to let everyone know he does have a father but his father doesn't feel the need to share the spotlight.

Martin - Phelps swam in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.

Yeah Jim, way to get that 2000 Olympics in there. Maybe next time you're being an argumentative douche mention that he swan in ONE race and was 15 years old - the youngest US swimmer since the 1930's.

If you can explain to me how Spitz, who began competitive swimming at age 6 and grew up in a rich family, was somehow at some disadvantage in his upbringing and training in relation to Phelps, from the ecomonic mecca of Baltimore, do tell.

Sorry if I come off as rude, I just don't like idiots.
