At the End of My Rope

Sorry, Dan-Bob. I don't mean to bury your excellent NCAA-related post. I just have a complaint to register. I know there's a 0% chance it reaches its intended audience, but I'm going to make it anyways.

HEY ESPN- STOP IT WITH THE BRETT FAVRE CRAP. PLEASE. JUST STOP. IT'S FUCKING INTOLERABLE.

That is all. For a real post, read below. (And I promise I'll do something substantial tomorrow afternoon/evening.)

I want more Favre!! More Favre!! More Favre!!

This was probably the biggest cop out ever by the Packers as well. They announce the QB job is Aaron Rodger's and then to appease Lord Favre they open the competition up. I will defend Aaron Rodgers to the death if he gets pissed off at a practice and brutally attacks someone, because at this point he deserves a stress reliever.

I slept better knowing that his plane landed and he and his wife were given a warm reception. All this Brett Farve shit pisses me off too, larry, but keep this in mind - he is on the cover of this year's Madden.

My money is on broken clavicle.

Excellent point- I'm hoping for something more hilarious and debilitating, however.

If anyone can beat the Madden Curse it is Brett Favre. There is no way the Curse could cause something negative to happen to Brett Favre, not with the way he runs around the field and plays the game with pure joy all the time in a child like state. No way it hurts him, the Curse has to respect the game more than that.

Also, remember how much John Madden loves Brett Favre. If the Curse dares to injure Brett, Madden will probably remove his name from the game forever out of spite.

Or maybe John Madden's mancrush on Favre will only magnify the Curse, causing some soft of on field simultaneous explosion of ligaments in week 3 when Madden is in GB if that's where Favre is. (Week 4 if he becomes a Bear, which I'm kind of hoping for. The Bears need a QB, and my brother is a huge Bears fan.)

To see a cataclysmic injury in HD would be super sweet. Imagine the excruciating popping noise in 5.1 Dolby. *sigh* It's probably not healthy to think about these things, but it would effectively end the coverage of Favre's comeback.

You guys got linked on The Big Lead for the college football article. This may be old news for you, but I am excited for you. Congratulations on that.

Has anyone heard if Brett Favre is in Green Bay yet? If not, where is his plane at? I need more news about this.

Jarrett, I am willing to gamble that Favre will beat the curse this year but my dream is that something pops in his second game back and Aaron Rodgers brings the Packers to a home playoff berth. I also hope Rodgers plays in a way that the Green Bay fans will be reminded of Favre, which means he will throw 3 INT in the playoff game but look like he is having so much fun doing it. Then, Rodgers gets addicted to painkillers in the offseason and has the entire city of Green Bay eating out of his hand at that point.

I would find it amusing if Brett Favre gets Theisman'd on his first snap of the season.

Larry is too much Favre on ESPN ever enough?

What about Baseball Tonight where they cram 1-minute of highlights into 59-minutes of crap?

Has anyone seen pnoles? I sense he's lonely...

If I were Packers' management, I'd do everything in my power to make sure the madden curse keeps going. This is nothing more than a fucking crybaby whining because he isn't in the spotlight anymore. If I'm coaching the Pack, the first 11-on-11 drills he does, I blitz 11 and hope he someone pulls a Lawrence Taylor.

Hope THAT someone pulls a Lawrence Taylor. Sorry, my ire clouded my grammar.

Personally, I am going to weep when the "FAVRE" category on the Bottom Line is gone. You know you're a big deal when regular updates on scores are precluded with the latest news on your flights and phone calls.

This morning, SportsCenter's story on Favre was interrupted with a live update from Green Bay about what might happen in Brett's day.

More important: Favre or Barbaro? Discuss. Actually, I might turn this into its own post.

If Favre breaks his leg, will they put him down?

Brett Farve? He retired a few months ago, didn't he? Is he in Green Bay to watch practice? Or is he there to give Aaron Rodgers some moral support? I haven't heard anything.
