Clearly, this Proves that the NBA is Fixed

Anyone with a brain knows that every result in the NBA is predetermined. David Stern has access to a group of top secret agents who carry out his wishes. His one and only goal is always to increase revenue by way of increasing TV ratings. You've got the 1985 draft lottery (watch the video from 4:30 to 5:30, it's worth it), the 2002 western conference finals, the 2006 finals, and now this. This screenshot was taken earlier this evening from NBA.com, moments before tipoff of the Blazers/Rockets game:

Hmmmm... note the lack of an "if necessary" marking next to game 6, despite the fact the Rockets led the series 3-1 at that time. And sure enough, the Blazers won tonight. They were called for 12 fouls; Houston was called for 24. They shot 23 free throws; Houston shot 10. Put the pieces together, people. It's all right there in front of you. This is clear and dispositive proof that the NBA is fixed. When will the media wake up and start reporting this story?

This post might as well have been written by Bill Simmons, and I am ashamed of that. Deeply, deeply ashamed.

On the other hand, it's still more relavent then Kriegel's video on Fox about the draft being out of control and the examples he uses are.....Ryan Leaf and Tom Brady. Thanks for staying timely there Mark.

Byron Scott, Chris Paul, and the entire New Orleans Hornets organization are obviously in on this conspiracy.

I blame Manny.

OK, here's what we've got: the Rand Corporation, in conjunction with the saucer people, under the supervision of the reverse vampires, are forcing the NBA to draw out series in a fiendish plot to piss off Chris W.

We're through the looking glass here, people...

Isn't it time for Chris W to post that the NBA playoffs are now 11 days old and the first round is not complete yet and that it very well could take over a month to get two series played? I think so...

I completely jealous that you thought of the "I will now set Bill Simmons on fire" tag before I did. The only thing fixed about the NBA is that you get kicked out of every sporting event for knocking the shit out of someone like Rondo did Brad Miller last night but he did not get a flagrant foul.

Last time I posted that, people yelled at me :(

And they had the dagger comeback "Well it's no worse than the ultra-efficient NHL playoffs" and so I was ultimately pwned...as it were

I need, no I demand, a sequel to that post. I realize TNT likes the whole 40 games in 40 nights thing but in a couple of years it is going to be 80 games in 80 nights and the playoffs are going to go from mid-April until late August.

I get really pumped for the games and then it takes 3 more days for another game to be played. A player could tear his ACL at the beginning of the playoffs and be back in time for the NBA Finals.

They play the NHL on ice, so it's faster.

I think I may be confused but the post says there are 6 comments and there are clearly 8 of them (not including this one). The NBA doesn't want us to comment on the fact it is fixed so it is eliminating some comments! The fix is in.

I wish I could post the screenshot so everyone doesn't think I am crazy.

Chris W said...

that's happened to me a couple times, ben

Bengoodfella said...

I am glad I am not crazy. I am really looking forward to Game 6 of the Boston-Chicago series two weeks from now.

You are kinda crazy though, Ben.

If assuming the NBA is an all controlling entity that manages to wipe comments it doesn't like off every blog on the Internet, manages to control the outcome of games between competitors that earn millions of dollars and therefore have no real good way of being bought of, and thinking even though the NBA can't get the own rules they have in the rulebook right is crazy, then I don't want to be sane.

David Stern is monitoring our activity right now.

Bengoodfella said...

I meant to say "can't get the own rules they have in the rulebook right but can control the universe" is crazy...

I think I need to stop posting now.

Can we talk about how Bill Simmons referred to Rojan Rondo as "just as talented" as Isiah Thomas.

Maybe he meant Rojan Rondo is just at good as basketball as Isiah Thomas is at being a father, but somehow, I doubt it.

Seriously, though. Isiah Thomas, Hall of Famer. Rondo, pretty good point guard surrounded by good players who's had one good series.

Citizen X - maybe Simmons considers "scoring", "passing", and "decision making" to be learned skills and not "talents". Because if you strip those things away, well Rondo is pretty much Isiah.

Doesn't matter because the Bulls are going to take the series.

Who's Derrick Rose like? This is fun.

rondo not being suspended in spite of 3 thuggish plays. i fucking hate the NBA. if howard gets suspended for a game IN THE PLAYOFFS for an elbow to the back of a head, it only seems logical that Rondo should get suspended for at least a game for 1) finger-fucking brad miller's face in Game 5 2) intentionally tripping kirk heinrich in Game 5 (watch the vid on youtube, clearly looks down before he sticks his foot out), and 3) throwing kirk into the scorer's table. Granted a flagrant was called for #3, but for the league to review it and let it slide after letting it slide after Game 5 is just ridiculous.

Oh, and NHL playoffs are shorter than NBA playoffs

The NBA is fixed. In fact, so are the NFL and MLB.

They are all scripted. It's not just a matter of refs and umpires making bad calls to slightly influence the final results of games, or having a guy throw one interception or fumble the ball. The big 3 professional sports in America are as legitimate as pro-wrestling like the old WWF and NWA.

How anyone is so stupid as to believe that the NBA, NFL and MLB are legitimately played and clean from politics and corruption is beyond reason.

All those leagues care about is money, plain and simple. It's about money and nothing else.

If this years playoff series between Boston and Cleveland doesn't prove that the NBA is fixed, then I don't know what else does?

There not even trying to hide the fact that it's fixed anymore!

Everyone needs to boycott all NBA games!!!

The Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is now admitting that LeBron James clearly threw games 2 4 5 and 6 of the Cavs/Celtics playoff series.

That was obvious!

But go back and watch those games again, and you will see that the ENTIRE Cavaliers team intentionally lost that whole series against the Celtics.

People should not lose site of the absolute fact that the entire NBA is rigged.

Boycott the NBA, or else they'll keep pulling this crap over and over, year after year.
