A Eulogy, A Pangyric, A Reminiscence, Whatever
Everyone saw the end coming. Oddly appropriate after the possible exit of Joe Morgan from ESPN's team. Though this isn't really news or criticism, it seems apropos to mention the end of the site whose snarky, acerbic attitude spawned this one.
A few highlights:
- Chris W. breaks down a Ken Tremendous post about the White Sox, spawning a theoretical discussion about the nature of metacriticaljournalism and how much people hate intellectual jerks like Chris.
- Mr. Tremendous makes a one-shot move to mainstream media, writes an uncharacteristically-stupid puff piece about Boston sports, promptly receives my justified ire and my rapist wit
- Larry B rips some points by KT
- pnoles attacks an unbelievably stupid article about anti-statistical bias, prompted by its appearance on the ex-FJM.
- Numerous times where a particularly egregious article was written up by the staffs of both this site and theirs - increasingly frequent this year. Unfortunately, I can't cite examples because I don't think I can link to specific posts of theirs anymore.
We endeavor to carry the flag of journalistic criticism onward, beyond the firings of the worst offenders, but to the land of sensible commentary, statistical informedness, and properly valued intangibles!

you can still link to individual FJoeM posts, ManGob
How? I can't seem to click the link on the heading of their posts that used to work to get the link to a specific post (as it does for our site).
...
piss-rub! :)
click on the thing at the bottom that tells you "date and time posted" and by whom
the bottom of each individual post, that is.
They played the game the right way.
With Ecksteiny-ness.
