Let's Evaluate Which One of These Occurences Matters Most

There is a serious problem with the ordering of the headlines on ESPN's front page today (Friday).

Here are the first 7, in order.

Report: Two Saints test positive for water pills
Report: Manning had staph infection in Colts camp
Goodell: Rehabbed 'Pacman' could return
Suggs says he 'misspoke' using the word 'bounty'
Ballesteros brain operation finished, eases swelling
Brady has more surgery to battle infection
Shields, Price hold back Phillies for Game 2 win.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD OF SPORTS YESTERDAY (Thursday) IS YOUR # 7 NEWS ARTICLE.

But who cares about the World Series? The Yankees aren't in it, the Red Sox aren't in it, and ESPN's not covering it. Big who cares? You know why?

Because Terrell Suggs said there was a 'bounty' on Hines Ward.

That's news, baby.

FUCK YOU ESPN.

  1. C'mon, Pnoles, there are a lot more important problems than the World Series that we have to worry about.

We have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race; stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.

  2. True, Jack, but I also think we need to know where Manny is going to sign.

  6. In the grand scheme of things, I would actually rate a former golf great's cancer battle to be a bit more important than the WS. As far as actual sporting events, though, I agree...why is the world series so far down the list?

  8. also, in defense of espn.com (rare, I know)...those headlines are usually in order of when they are added to the site. So early in the morning they probably added the world series report, then after that someone wrote about brady, then etc. Maybe the method is bad, but it's not that they thought those six things were more important than the world series
