Ironic Irony

I'm sure a lot of you out there were already familiar with this, but I just stumbled across it this weekend. Why, look at that... who's that handsome, mustachioed devil on the cover of "Baseball For Dummies?" I think I'm going to label this as a punchline that writes itself. In fact, it falls so deeply into that category that I'm not even going to let the damn thing write itself. Nothing at all needs to be said about the following image.

  1. I actually own this book.
The "Joe Says" sections are the best.

  2. Larry, just curious....how's Soto doing thus far this season? I hadn't heard anything, or checked our fantasy league. :p

  3. I have never seen this and I think it is one of the most ironic things I have ever seen or heard in the past couple years. I mean that, I spent the past 30 minutes thinking about all the ironic things in my life over the past 5 years and this was ranked number 1.

I think my dream is to ask him during a chat if the book is consistent and does not clog up the shelves, then have him answer he can't really tell me because he has not read the book but he knows Gary Sheffield has read it and liked it. Overall, he can't speak to the book though.

  4. I like the quote at the top, where anything could be in the middle that was left out.

"Joe Morgan? That guy's a moron. Had to work with him for three weeks every Spring just to reteach him that you run counterclockwise around the bases. Real weird guy too. Kept warning of a robot apolcalypse. But anyway, yeah that Pete Rose is one of the most intelligent players to ever play the game."

  5. Larry should buy the book and spend the rest of the year posting outtakes from it.
